SCHOLARSHIP CALENDAR — UNITED KINGDOM (UK) — OCTOBER 2025

WEEK 1 (1–5 OCT) 🗓️
• CHEVENING & UCAS WARM-UP: Finalise essays, confirm referees, and check eligibility. Chevening closes next week; Oxbridge/Medicine UCAS deadline is mid-month.
• ADMIN READY: Passport, transcripts, English-language proof (if required), and CV in clean PDFs.

WEEK 2 (6–12 OCT) 🚀
• CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS — DEADLINE: Tue 7 Oct, 12:00 (UTC). Submit the online form before midday; references are uploaded later if you’re shortlisted.
• ONE-WEEK WARNING — UCAS 15 OCT: Oxbridge + Medicine/Dentistry/Vet applications are due next week at 18:00 UK time. Proof-read your personal statement and verify course codes now.

WEEK 3 (13–19 OCT) 🎓
• UCAS (OXFORD/CAMBRIDGE/MED/DENT/VET) — DEADLINE: Wed 15 Oct, 18:00 UK time. Equal-consideration cut-off. Don’t miss it.
• COMMONWEALTH MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIPS — DEADLINE: Tue 14 Oct, 16:00 (UK). Apply via the CSC portal; you’ll also need a nominating agency and to meet course requirements.
• GATES CAMBRIDGE (US APPLICANTS) — DEADLINE: Wed 15 Oct, 23:59 GMT. US-round cut-off for 2026 entry.

WEEK 4 (20–26 OCT) ⏳
• OFFER-TRACKING & DOC CHECKS: After UCAS/Chevening/CSC submissions, monitor portals for verification tasks and department requests (some faculties ask for extra forms).
• GREAT SCHOLARSHIPS (British Council): Many 2025–26 awards are open across UK universities; windows vary by campus. Shortlist courses and check each university’s page.

WEEK 5 (27–31 OCT) ✅
• RHODES SCHOLARSHIPS — GLOBAL ROUTE: Final interviews Thu–Fri 30–31 Oct in Oxford (most other constituencies interview in November).
• FOLLOW-UPS: If you’ve submitted Chevening/CSC/Gates, set reminders for referee uploads, test scores, and financial documents requested by universities.

CHECKLIST — APPLY WITHOUT MISTAKES ✅

1. CORE PDFs READY: passport, transcripts, degree certificates, English-language proof (if needed), CV.
2. REFERENCES: line up two referees and confirm they can submit on time (Chevening uploads are requested after shortlisting).
3. UCAS ESSENTIALS: course codes, college choices (if Oxbridge), structured personal statement, school reference, and submission before 15 Oct at 18:00 UK time.
4. FUNDING ESSAYS: show leadership/impact (Chevening), development alignment (Commonwealth), and evidence of research fit (Gates/Rhodes).
5. FILE-NAMING LIKE A PRO: SURNAME_Name_UK_OCT2025_DOC.pdf (zero confusion, fast uploads).
6. SUBMIT EARLY ON DEADLINE DAY: portals get busy in the final hour; avoid last-minute time-outs.
7. FOLLOW-UP: check email + spam every 48–72 h; some schemes send time-limited links.
